Desktop publishing (DTP)

The well-known Desktop publishing was introduced in 1985 by Apple, Adobe, Linotype and Aldus.
Apple contributed the first graphics-oriented computer, Adobe provided the programming language PostScript, Linotype supplied the first PostScript fonts and Aldus contributed the layout program PageMaker. Various computers such as the Macintosh SE/30 (1989), the Power Macintosh G3 (1997) and the Mac Pro (2007) are part of the permanent exhibition and illustrate the development of desktop publishing.
